Food to fabric
Design project M1.1 , 2023-2024
This design project tackles the issue of food waste in private households by raising awareness of its untapped potential. Using a research-through-design approach, it creates a 'wearable' material library, exploring the possibilities of turning food waste into clothing and wearable materials.
By challenging traditional fashion norms, the project highlights the value of reducing food waste while promoting sustainable practices and shifting perspectives on fast fashion. Through material testing and user-centered design, it demonstrates the feasibility of repurposing household food waste into practical alternatives, fostering a transformative approach to material use and consumption in fashion.
